Yesterday was Valentine’s Day. Whether you spent it with your spouse, girlfriend or boyfriend, or family & friends, it was a day to celebrate love and the loved ones in our lives. Every single person has the need, the desire, to be loved. We all search for love at some point in our lives hoping to find true love, and when we do, it feels like we’re walking on clouds. But then there is another side to love, at some point we will be hurt. Love can bring bliss but then it can also bring pain and hurt, but it’s not loves fault really. The fault lies in us, humans, an imperfect people. None of us are perfect, we are deeply effected by sin, and we do selfish things, say hurtful things, and we hurt the ones we love.

We all want to find perfect love, an unconditional love, that will never hurt, and that will love you no matter what. But we cannot depend on another person for perfect love, but there is someone who loves us with a perfect love… GOD. God’s love is perfect, unconditional, never ceasing, always protecting, gentle, and present. It is vital that every person should encounter perfect love, the love of Jesus Christ. He gave his very life so that you can have life because He loves you… and when you encounter perfect love your understanding of love grows and continues to grow. This understanding helps us to love better, more deeply, and in a more unselfish way. These Bible verse blessed me this month and I hope they bless you as well.

"Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love." -      1 John 4:7-8

"Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." - Ephesians 3:17-19

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
